Gadsden City boys, girls rout Pell City

Haley Troup helped lead Gadsden City to a 60-13 win over Pell City in Class 6A, Area 9 girls high school basketball Tuesday night.

The Titans improved to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in area games.

Troup scored 19 points and recorded four steals for Gadsden City. TK Blount finished with 12 points and four steals. Kiari Kinney pulled down 10 rebounds. 

Gadsden City lost to Spain Park 64-48 Monday night. Blount led the Titans with 22 points. Victoria Baldwin scored 26 points for Spain Park. 

Gadsden City jumped out to a 23-2 lead after the first quarter en route to a 67-33 drubbing of the Panthers in the boys game Tuesday.

Kalin Johnson led the Titans (6-3, 2-0) with 17 points. Josh Juddine had 10 points.

Of the 16 players on the Gadsden City roster, 14 players scored in the win.

Gadsden City travels to Clay-Chalkville on Friday for girls and boys games.
