Glencoe begins the second half of the high school football season on quite the high note.
The Yellow Jackets (3-2, 1-2 in Class 3A, Region 5) avenged a 27-24 loss to rival Hokes Bluff in 2012 by routing the Eagles 49-20 last week.
Quarterback Dylan Stone continues to evolve into an all-around threat, as he rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns to go with 108 yards passing and two more scores in the win.
Combined with running back Thomas Ozmint, athlete Hunter Nunnally and receivers Pace Ozmint and Jamon Phillips, Stone heads an offense that has plenty of weapons and momentum heading back into region play.
The Yellow Jackets will need all of those players Friday night, as they travel to undefeated region foe Saks.
The Wildcats not only have yet to lose, they are outscoring opponents by an average of 46-9. The closest game Saks has played this season was a 37-14 win over Walter Wellborn in Week 1.
A win would be a huge catapult for Glencoe toward a potential playoff spot.
