RAINBOW CITY — Westbrook Christian’s Mikhail Cazenave signed Friday to play baseball for Georgia Highlands.
The signing caps a special two weeks for Cazenave, who led the Warriors to the Class 2A state championship series in 2013. Cazenave was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State team as a pitcher June 9. Then, on Sunday, The Gadsden Times named him the All-Etowah County Player of the Year.
As a senior, Cazenave went 10-3 and sported a 1.20 ERA. He struck out 108 batters and walked only 23.
Cazenave also worked out for Chattanooga State, Southern Union, Calhoun Community College and West Alabama before signing with the Chargers.
