LINCOLN — The Alabama Stingrays 12U travel baseball team of Gadsden won the 2013 Major League State Championship during weekend for the fourth consecutive season.

The Stingrays outscored their opponents 39-12 during the tournament.

Starting pitchers for the Stingrays in the event were Cullen Stafford, Jaylen Bradford, David Rutledge and Coby Fuller. Making relief appearances were Dylan Robinson, Dalton Robinson, Jackson Luttrell and Jarren Wright.

Players who hit homers during the tournament were Rutledge, Stafford, Fuller and Bryson Bone. Other players with hits included Dylan Robinson, Dalton Robinson, Luttrell, Wright and Bradford.

The Stringrays will play in the 2013 Grand Slam World Series in Florida beginning July 1. The team is coached by Tracy Robinson, Mike Edwards, Warren Wright and Phillip Luttrell.
