Brooks, Ashville girls win against Glencoe

HOKES BLUFF — Ebonie Brooks scored a game-high 23 points to help lead the Ashville Bulldogs to a 69-41 victory over the Glencoe Yellow Jackets on Thursday evening in the Class 3A, Area 10 tournament.
Ashville led 20-7 at the end of the first quarter and increased their lead to 33-18 headed into halftime. After three, the Bulldogs led Glencoe 48-25.
Destiny Montgomery and Autumn Swearingen both scored 10 points in the victory, while Jenny Howard chipped in with nine.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Sally Tinker, who scored eight points in the loss.
Ashville (21-7) will play Hokes Bluff on Saturday night at 6 p.m. in the area final.
